The Immeasurable Region

Before too long a student of the Order will encounter the phrase “Prepare to Enter the Immeasurable Region” spoken by the Hierophant.  This is one of only a few occasions where  dramaticism is employed, but no further definition or description is given of it’s meaning.  It is left to each student to ponder.

Its meaning is partially revealed in the words themselves, when taken in context with the Order’s methods of training, and the deliberate development of intuition to guide further inner work.

This Immeasurable Region is vast, and it’s seas are deep and fertile, and while many have tried to chart it, to document it, it cannot truely be described, being immeasurable, so any attempts to do so are either vain or false.  A reliance on the intellect to learn hard facts, on reading books to find definitive answers, or hanging on the information of others as certainties, keeps the student from launching into this Immeasurable Region to find yet more sacred, un-profaned shores.

The Immeasurable Region is, therefore, a place that must be explored and experienced, and not read about.  Given most of us have been through the education mill, we are used to reading facts to find solutions – so the hardest part for the student is launching off – having the conviction and courage to do so (remember fear is failure), sailing out into the unknown, unchartered, out into this Immeasurable Region.

In a practical sense, this means figuring things out for yourself.  This is important, but not well understood.  Asking yourself always “what does this mean?”, using meditation and contemplation to look for the answer coming from within yourself.

The Order’s secrets are hidden in symbolism, and symbolism is evocative – there is no need to read about it, just ponder, and give it time, and the symbol will reveal its mystery to you.

The Hierophant has commanded, the Kerux has explored, the Hegemon has guided.
