Daily Practice

Members of the Grades Neophyte to Portal are expected to follow a regime of discipline, discussed and agreed with the Demonstrator, but usually along these lines.

-Wake up and rise at sunrise if possible.

-Recite the Daily Rhythm for the Grade [Daily Rhythm for Grades Neophyte to Philosophus printed in The Lantern Vol III]

-Undertake the morning ablutions

-Prepare room for Meditations

-Wear Sash and preform Ceremonial with usual formula, including prescribed breathing

-Meditate for 20 minutes and record notes for sending to Demonstrator

-Finish with usual formula including reciting Elemental Prayer

-At noon recite the Daily Rhythm for the Grade

-At sunset recite the Daily Rhythm for the Grade

-Do 1 to 2 hours study of the KL’s and read side papers, 2 to 3 days a week

-Finish in evening with usual formula and recite the Daily Rhythm for the Grade

Maintain this practice for 6 days, and on the 7th spend time quietly reading through the relevant Grade Ceremony.

Each Grade has a special exercise or practical experiment which is incorporated into the above discipline.
