1. WELL GROUNDED – the Candidate is in a lasting relationship, has a grown family, has a stable career, owns their own property, actively engages in “normal” society, is free of excesses.
2. SPIRITUALLY INQUISITIVE – the Candidate is seeking for something beyond the material, is looking for a spiritual path, has an inner urge, looking for deeper meaning to life, looking for their true self, is capable of seeing the big picture.
3. NEW TO OCCULTISM – the Candidate has no baggage or preconceptions from previous experiences, or exposure to cult type personalities, has a fresh lense through which to view subjects.
4. DISCIPLINED – the Candidate is able to stick to a regime, is able to make things happen, does what they say they will, demonstrates determination, is generally a “busy” person.
5. SCIENTIFIC MIND – the Candidate is capable of not taking things on face value, can assess and interpolate/extrapolate, can formulate queries and look for insights, can change their mind if common sense does not stack up.
6. APPRECIATION OF THE ARTS – the Candidate has a good imagination, showing some artistic flair, has a generally romantic outlook, looks for and appreciates beauty/aesthetics.
7. WILLING AND ABLE TO LEAD – a Candidate can make decisions, able to act for the greater good, makes a difference, leads by example, is looked up to by peers, is generally humble.
Obviously such people are few and far between.
Most candidates will show weaknesses in a few areas, but must be strong in at least some of these virtues to be of use to the Order. The more virtues they align to, the more likely they are to respond to the Order’s system of training, and more importantly, the greater the likelihood they will be able to take the Work out of the Temple and actively partake in the Great Work, that is the healing of Nature through the marriage of Zauir Anpin the Son, to Kalah the Bride, the Summum Bonum.
