While the inside of the S.T. Vault has been shown on many occasions, I do not believe the inside of the Temple itself has been shown. I took this photo perhaps 15 years ago [circa 2002].
Whare Ra has been in private hands for many years, and the Temple space under the house is now used as a rumpus room (hence the chairs/couches). While in the photo the floor and ceiling are red, and the walls white, Frank Salt informed me that originally the floor was laid in black malthoid (or similar), and the walls and ceiling were painted in dark grey, so as to represent a cave.
On the the two plinths, on either side of the Dias steps, were placed a black female sphinx sculpture on the left, and a white male one on the right.
The two doors either side of the main V. door led to small storage rooms, and the left room in particular was used in one of the higher Grades.
This photo shows the first V. door ajar, revealing the second inner door.
I was lucky, on this occassion, to spend some time in the V. alone. It is not dull or dark as some claim. While not charged as such, the colours still play off from one wall to another, alighting the senses whether clairvoyant or not.
